US-BASED WINROCK TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL AIDS FOR BREEDING

A US-based environmental project Winrock will provide technical assistances for minimizing damages to environment by fish farming, local newspaper the Messenger reported, citing an official of Myanmar Fishery Federation.
“In doing breeding business, the nearby residents in the ward raised complaints about foul smell and, if it is poultry breeding, they are afraid of bird flu. They provide aids for systematic breeding to prevent them,” Dr Hla Hla Thein of Myanmar Poultry Breeding Association said.
Winrock project made a field trip to Myanmar in August to observe systematic breeding for reducing environmental impacts.
It would be the first project of Win Rock in Myanmar, an MFF official said. Winrock will offer options for alternative energy resources, use of biofuel, recycling manure and feeding techniques.
