The Japanese government and Asia Development Bank would fund a transparency project in Myanmar, local newspaper The Voice reported, citing a press release by ADB.
The Japanese government and ADB, which have partnered in various development projects in Myanmar, again join hands to help government institutions release information more effectively.
Government information includes progress reports, rules and regulations and figures about technical performance, according ADB.
The Japanese government will also provide technical assistances for the poverty alleviation tasks and ADB would manage the aids.
The Japanese government pledges USD 1.2 million for the project aimed at releasing the government information well.
The Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development would participate in the project as the focal ministry.
The project is expected to complete by 2015 August.
