FOREIGN COMPANIES TO ENTER MANDALAY WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM

Foreign companies are entering negotiations with Mandalay authorities for water supply system in the second largest city, establishing joint venture with local entities, Daily Eleven reported.
A member of Mandalay City Development Committee said, “We are in talks with many foreign companies.”
According to the source, many foreign entities are involved in the negotiations and the committee is still assessing the proposals.
The dilapidated water supply system in the cultural city of Myanmar needs some refurbishments such as new water pipes and pumps.
Out of seven township, only five are provided with tap water and others still have to rely on the underground water sources.
